摘要
This paper proposes a new movement detection mechanism using a Differential Received Signal Strength Indicator (DRSSI) in a mobile Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network. MPLS can support a mobile service and will be the fundamental technology in Next Generation Network (NGN). A Base Station (BS) can detect the movement of Mobile Node (MN) by measuring its DRSSI. In our algorithm, a BS can release the bandwidth of MN in handoff when the MN goes to another cell. According to the numerical analysis, our movement detection algorithm using DRSSI can increase the performance of mobile MPLS network by reducing handoff blocking probability.
