Objective. To analyze scientific productions available in the Brazilian literature about the importance of spirituality and religiosity as support for cancer patients. Method. This is an integrative literature review conducted from articles published from 10.01.2009 to 09.30.2019 in the databases of the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health (PubMed), Virtual Health Library (VHL), Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS) and the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO). Results. The search found 13 articles involving 416 participants. Conclusions. Spirituality and religiosity are essential factors for cancer patient support. There is a need to promote integration of this approach, involving family members and health professionals.
