摘要
High blood pressure is a serious health problem in almost all current medical settings. One of the most complicated and poorly studied scenarios is that of hypertensive patients undergoing periodic and chronic hemodialysis. These patients have peculiarities that make their management very complex. If there is no adequate management, hypertension outside the therapeutic goals will lead to a difficult evolution of the patients due to cardiovascular or cerebrovascular events with a marked increase in mortality. This review aims to answer a series of questions. What is the pathophysiology of hypertension in hemodialysis patients? What characterizes hypertension in hemodialysis? How should blood pressure be measured in a patient on hemodialysis? What are the repercussions of off-target hypertension in a patient on hemodialysis? When to start drug treatment in a hypertensive patient with Chronic Kidney Disease? What are the target blood pressure figures in a hypertensive patient with Chronic Kidney Disease? What drugs are the most appropriate for the treatment of hypertension in a patient with hemodialysis?
