The "European Working Party on Systemic Lupus Erythematosus" was created 15 years ago in order to promote research in Europe on the different problems related to this disease. Nowadays, more than 50 European centres are collaborating in this venture, 9 large multicentre studies are ongoing and 10 workshops have been organized. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
