摘要
Primary hypothyroidism can lead to delayed growth and pseudoprecocious puberty in juvenile patients, which was known as Van Wyk-Grumbach's syndrome (VWGS). There have been very few clinical case reports of primary juvenile hypothyroidism presenting with concurrent huge bilateral cystic ovaries. Here, we report the case of a 14-year-old female patient suffering from primary hypothyroidism in combination with bilateral cystic ovaries. Remarkable improvement of symptoms was observed after one month of hormone replacement therapy and an unnecessary surgical treatment was avoided. A comprehensive literature review of VWGS is summarised here to illustrate the presentation, diagnosis, and treatment of VWGS in pediatric patients. The present study aims to improve the current clinical knowledge of VWGS. (C) 2020 Published by Elsevier Masson SAS on behalf of French Society of Pediatrics.
