Endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) are natural and synthetic molecules found in everyday products and Use in the manufacture of food. They can interfere with difference hormonal pathways (synthesis, secretion, transport, activity and/or elimination), but also with glucose and lipido metabolism. Therefore, they can induce a wide range adverse effects (developmental and reproductive effect hormone-dependent tumors such as breast, testis, colon (a prostate cancers). Epidemiological studies in humans together with accidental acute exposure reports strongly suggest a association between metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes and exposure to persistent organic pollutants (POPs), which must be considered as insulin resistance factors. There is nor sufficient evidence suggesting that EDCs may also explain: an important part in the incidence of metabolic disease (metabolic syndrome, obesity and type 2 diabetes), with a attributable direct cost estimated at 20 billion in the Et Fetal life is probably a crucial period of vulnerability forth programming of these diseases.
