Micro-macro modelling of the creep behaviour of TiAl alloys

摘要
The creep behaviour of TiAl intermetallic alloys at 750 degrees C (Ti-48Al-2Nb-2Mn and XD Ti-47Al-2Nb-2Mn-0.8vol%TiB2) has been modelled using FEM analysis and a micro-macro modelling approach. A modification of the Continuum Damage Mechanism model of Dyson and McLean, allows the description of the three stages of creep. Our model includes dislocation creep, grain boundary sliding as creep mechanisms. Damage is modelled by terms related to mobile dislocation density and recrystallisation that allows the description of the microstructure change and its concomitant effect on creep behaviour. It is thus possible to predict lifetimes for a wide range of stresses with good reliability.
