PERSONALITY, VULNERABILITY AND ADOLESCENT RIGHTS FROM A WINNICOTTIAN PERSPECTIVE

This research project sought to understand the emotional and unconscious aspects surrounding the act of delinquent. Its main reference was the Winnicottian literature, which aims to analyze the adolescent who has been violating social behaviors, the act of violence and what the repercussions of this phenomenon have on current society. We sought to question the issue of criminal adulthood by punctuating respectable aspects of the psychoanalytic view that clarify what adolescence is, and how these processes can help to understand what normal and pathological aggression is. The answers we find through Winnicott's reading are, from social, psychic and legal analysis, that if we hold the adolescent responsible for his actions, we are, as a society, pruning every possibility of emotional and social recovery of someone who is asking for help. Thus, at the heart of the issue, it is clear that prevention and public policy are still the best ways to change the big issue of adolescent violence.
