摘要
The power transmission capability available from a transmission line design is limited by technological and economical constraints. Therefore, in order to maximize the amount of real power, reactive power flows must be minimized. Consequently, sufficient reactive power should be provided locally in the system to keep the bus voltages within nominal ranges in order to satisfy customer's equipments voltage ratings. In this paper, a mathematical model of reactive power optimization and its algorithm are set up and studied, and algorithms like GA and PSO are proposed for reactive power optimization in deregulated electricity market. Gauss-seidel method for the power is used in conjunction with PSO to obtain the optimal value of reactive power. To enhance the voltage profile of the overall power system, FACTS devices are used. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated on an IEEE 30-bus benchmark system in MATLAB. Results are also compared with those value obtained using GA.
