ARTHUR DANTO AND THE AESTHETIC EXPERIENCE

The article, at first, retraces the detachment made by Arthur Danto between Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art. This detachment lies on the foundation of Danto's ontology and differentiates its attempt to define art from the traditional aesthetics arguments on beauty and taste. From this reconstruction, I take a second step where I analyze how Arthur Danto discusses with aesthetic experience, the way it is understood, especially, after Kant, and what are his criticisms and proposals to rethink the relation between public and art.
