摘要
In this paper, a new estimator of the eta-mu distribution is derived based on the Maximum Likelihood (ML) Estimation method. This distribution has been recently proposed to model the received field strength in a non-line-of-sight scenario. Hence, efficient estimators are demanded to infer the parameters of the received signal amplitude distribution in wireless communication propagation mediums. The ML parameter estimation is shown, as well as its characteristics and some other estimation measurements in order to evaluate the method. Then, the eta-mu distribution ML estimator is proposed, analyzed and verified against the true values of the parameters chosen by means of a simulation employing a well-established random sequence generator. The ML method is also verified against another well-known estimation method, the Moments Based Estimator.
