The United States Energy Association's global energy partnership program

From a global energy perspective, the world's energy use will continue to rise for three reasons: 1. Population growth 2. Social development 3. Increased Demand for Services There are six billion people on earth today and 2.5 billion of them are without electricity. By 2050 the population will grow to 10 billion. Energy investment to meet the demands of this population is now estimated at $20 trillion. The concept of partnership is the keystone of the United States' foreign assistance program. Foreign aid is a partnership between the U.S. government, the business sector, and the non-profit community to achieve two fundamental foreign policy goals. to strengthen this country strategically, which means building tile ranks of democratic, free enterprise, pro-US nations; and, to help this country expand economically, which means finding new trading partners for U.S. business.
