摘要
An approach for automatic development of guess values for computerized analysis of gearing is proposed. The development of the algorithm is divided in two stages based on: (i) minimization of distance of two chosen points of gear surfaces, and (ii) successive improvement of the guess value based on minimization of the deviation of the two normal vectors to the contacting surfaces by an iterative process. Stage (i) may be sufficient in some simple cases, while stages (i) and (ii) have to be applied simultaneously in more complicated cases. The two stages can be also applied to find the real point of contact, if a high accuracy is being provided for the iterative process. A numerical example is presented as well. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
