The hydrodynamic mixed convection in a lid- driven square cavity including elliptic shape heated block with corner heater is numerically simulated in this paper following a finite element method approach. The enclosure is heated by corner heaters which are under isothermal boundary conditions with different length in bottom and right vertical walls. The lid is having lower temperature than heaters. The other boundaries of the enclosure are insulated. A uniform magnetic field is applied along the horizontal direction. The study is performed for different Grashof and Hartmann numbers at Re = 100. The Prandtl number is taken as Pr = 0.71 for all computations. A detailed analysis of flow pattern shows that the mixed convection is based on both the parameters Gr and Ha. (C) 2017 The Authors.
