SKIN CANCER BETWEEN MYTH AND REALITY, YET ETHICALLY CONSTRAINED

Skin neoplasia is the most common human cancer, which often calls into question ethical issues. This paper aims to raising the physician's awareness of the importance of eliminating the preexisting myths regarding this condition and to emphasize how important it is to inform the patient and to have a multidisciplinary collaboration in order to establish the optimal therapeutic choice. In a country lacking a a national registry of skin cancer yet, where the medical practice is not based on international guidelines and the access to health services is still unequal, this controversial topic remains of current interest.
