摘要
Modern communication systems require antennas operating at wider bands with reduced dimensions which are compactable for many wireless devices. Many design methodologies are proposed wherein the use of fractals in the designing of antenna gives us immense benefits. This work employs fractals in the hexagonal geometry which will yield a compact size antenna operating at various frequencies. A hexagonal shaped fractal antenna is designed and simulated with size of the radiating patch of about 26 mm x 30 mm which operates in the UWB band of 3.1GHz to 10.6GHz. The antenna discussed above creates the fractal geometry inside the patch with similar in shape but difference in sizes of the hexagon. The results demonstrate that the proposed antenna offers good dual band frequencies (3.6GHz and 6.4GHz) which is suitable for many wireless applications.
