The Differences on Modality and Function of Three Frequency Adverbs "changchang/zongshi/laoshi"

摘要：
This paper investigates the modality and function of frequency adverbs "changchang ((sic))""zongshi ((sic)) and "laoshi ((sic))". Although there are differences in the frequency among these adverbs, these differences are not essential ones. It is found that the higher frequency adverb "changchang" is a propositional adverb, it has less restriction, while "zongshi/laoshi" are pseudo -modality adverbs and have more restrictions than "changchang".
