Life Cycle Analysis of CO2 Control Technology: Comparison of Coal-fired Power with Renewable Energy Power

摘要
Based on life cycle assessment, the paper assessed the CO2 avoided cost and cost of electricity (COE) of the power generation technologies, including coal-fired power plant with CO2 capture and storage (CCS), wind power, solar PV, and biomass-fired power plant. The results show that COE, CO2 avoided cost of 800MW USCPC+CCS is competitive comparing with renewable energy power. COE of USCPC+CCS is almost same with that of wind power, and much lower than that of biomass and solar PV. CO2 avoided cost of USCPC with CCS is a little higher than that of wind power, and much lower than that of biomass and solar PV.
