摘要
The epidemiological situation regarding tuberculosis in the Federation of Russia is particularly alarming. From 1991 to 1996-1997, the morbidity rate increased from 30.6 to 42.6 per 100,000 inhabitants. Tuberculosis has become the infectious disease responsible for the highest number of deaths in this country, i.e. more than 23,000 in 1997. The increase in morbidity in the most productive age group (20-39 years), is the most alarming aspect of the tuberculosis epidemic in the Federation of Russia.
