Transient dynamic recrystallization in an aluminium alloy subjected to large reductions in strain rate

摘要
Specimens of commercial purity aluminium have been subjected to large strain rate reductions during high temperature deformation. It is found that for strain rate changes larger than a critical value; dynamic recrystallization occurs at the lower strain rate. However, this is a transient phenomenon, and on further deformation it is superseded by dynamic recovery. The results are interpreted in terms of the driving pressures for recrystallization in the presence of unstable subgrain structures. (C) 1997 Acta Metallurgica Inc.
