How reaction kinetics with time-dependent rate coefficients differs from generalized mass action

(Graph Presented) Take caution! The two distinct theoretical descriptions of non-classical kinetics: fractal-like kinetics (kinetics with time-dependent rate coefficients) and the power law approximation (generalized mass action kinetics) are shown to be equivalent only for simple reactions of the type A+A→ø or A+B→ø with equal initial concentrations of A and B. In all other cases they are not the same. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
