摘要
During the past two decades, organizations have been striving to enhance productivity and quality in their operations. Although various strategies have been adopted for this purpose, the strategy to prevent and manage risks in organizations has been tried only to a feeble extent. Even the few approaches which have so far been tried to prevent and manage risks adopted mainly the mathematical models which failed to provide favourable results in practice. Meanwhile, it was realized that, amidst the rapid advancements in technological font, the majority of the products in the world continue to embody steel. In this context, a research project was undertaken in which a revised theoretical approach was designed that was later applied in a steel-producing enter-prise. The details of this research project ar-e presented in this paper. The unique feature of this research project is the adoption of mock drill exercise as the main technique to prevent and manage pure risks in steel-producing enterprises. The results of the implementation study were considered favourable, as the managerial personnel appreciated the contribution of the revised approach of the risk management and prevention towards the enhancement of productivity and quality in organizations.
