摘要：

In The Ecology of Modernism Joshua Schuster claims that when looking at a wide array of modernist works and their literary fallout, we can discover the influence of industrial pollution on the modernist period. That influence allows us to see an initial environmental awareness, yet it should not be confused with environmental action. Schuster further calls for ecocritical study of works traditionally not associated with nature.
