The present investigation is concerned with the application of the theory of fracture to the prediction of the workability of materials in rotary forging, with special reference to center cracks. The validity of the theory of ductile fracture is examined by the experimental data, then the workability of materials in rotary forging is determined. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
