Breast Carcinoma Metastatic to Renal Oncocytoma Detected on F-18-FDG PET/CT

摘要
We report the detection of breast cancer metastatic to the kidney on F-18-FDG PET imaging. A 40-year-old woman with breast cancer previously metastatic to lymph nodes and lung underwent an FDG PET/CT scan demonstrating a solitary hypermetabolic exophytic renal nodule. Correlation with contrast-enhanced CT supported our suspicion of malignant involvement. Metastatic carcinoma of mammary origin was confirmed at partial nephrectomy. Surprisingly, the metastatic lesion was harbored in a synchronous renal oncocytoma.
