摘要
Granular type activated carbons are prepared from stone africam palm (Elaeis guineensis) for chemical activation with MgCl2 and CaCl2 aqueous solutions of various concentrations and temperatures of 773 and 1073 K. Activated carbons are characterized by N-2 physical adsorption at 77 K; of the isotherms acquired the texture parameters are obtained: the surface area and micropore volume, with values between 12 and 501 m(2)g(-1) and 0.002 to 0.21 cm(3)g(-1) respectively. The immersion enthalpy values of solids in water are between -7.4 and -36.3 Jg(-1) and in benzene are between -19.4 and -33.9 Jg(-1), the results evince that activation with the salts MgCl2 and CaCl2 produce activated carbons with pores in the range of mesopores that facilitates entry of the adsorbates. The characterization of total acidity and basicity of carbonaceous materials are realized with values obtained between 18 and 263 mu molg(-1) and 123 and 3614 mu molg(-1) respectively also determines the pH at the point of zero charge, pH(PZC) and infrared spectro (DR-FTIR).
