Phytogenic feed additives - Influence of the quantity and quality of poultry meat

摘要
In a study with 3 test series (n=7456) broilers were fed with phytogenic feed additives and after completion of a fattening period of 35 days slaughtered for the purpose of registration of the carcass value (n=527). Thereby were included following treatment groups: A negative control, a positive control (Virginiamycin 20 mg/kg), digestarom 1305 (150 mg/kg and/or 300 mg/kg), digestarom 1317 (150 mg/kg) and a herb mixture (1 kg/t). The investigations led to following results: A significant improvement of the growth about 7% as compared with the negative control, a reduction of the abdominal fat as well as an increase of the meat content of the joints breast and thighs. The chemical composition of the meat and the fatty acid pattern of the abdominal fat was not influenced by the treatment groups.
