摘要
The success of man in work and life is connected with his ability to effectively interact with the social environment. This requires certain assumptions in the emotional field and certain social competences. Our paper deals with examination of the relationship between social competences (SK) and emotional intelligence (EI). To measure the level of social competencies, a long version of the ISK (Social Competence Inventory, Kanning, 2009) questionnaire was used, with 108 items structured into 17 primary and 4 secondary scales. To measure emotional intelligence, the 30-item TEIQue SF (Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire Short Form, Petrides, 2009) was used, which measure global emotional intelligence and its four factors. The used questionnaires measure the trait parameters of the studied concepts. The research sample included 183 participants aged 18-69. Our findings confirmed the assumption of a strong positive relationship between the level of global emotional intelligence and the level of global social competence. In examining the relationship of EI and primary and secondary SK scales, we have mostly found significant relationships. A strong positive relationship has EI with primary SK scales extraversion, decisiveness, emotional stability, flexibility in acting. We identified the positive relationships of EI factors and three ISK secondary scales, except for the reflexivity scale.
