The ethics of creation between two distances: violence and sacrifice in Herberto Helder and Rui Chafes

In order to think about the creative processes of the poet Herberto Helder (Funchal, 1930-Cascais, 2015) and the sculptor Rui Chafes (Lisbon, 1966), this article seeks to point out how religiosity and violence are claimed as a way to complexify the possible relations between singularity and community based on a debate about ethics in contemporary times.
