摘要
Automation is the engineering world's new trend. A survey of the existing vegetable cutting machines show the following drawbacks - high cost, more manpower and slow operation due to manual intervention. Moreover, all the works employ only partial automation. In our work, the complete process of vegetable chopping right from the detection up to the chopping is automated. Image processing is used to identify the vegetable, in a python open cv environment. This eliminates the need for maintaining a huge database of all the vegetables. The various parameters related to the vegetables such as texture, hardness, colour, size and shape are analyzed and a suitable blade is selected. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
