摘要
Thin Steel Plate Shear Wall (TSPSW) is an innovative lateral load-resisting element capable of effectively bracing a building against both wind and earthquake. Both the experiments and finite element analysis proved the excellent ductile performance of TSPSW. However, a more efficient finite element method is necessary in the structural system analysis. Then strip model was developed using as a simplified design method of TSPSW recommend by CAN/CSA-S16-1, 2001 and AISC 2005, and is also widely used in simulating the static behavior of TSPSW. But whether the strip model can be used to simulate the hysteretic behavior of TSPSW needs to be investigated. In this paper the strip model tinder reversed cyclic load is studied with the variation of following parameters: height-to-thickness ratio of steel plate, number of strips and the inclination angle of the strips. The results based on the strip model are evaluated by comparing with the experimental results. It shows that the strip model can be used in system analysis under reversed cyclic load. The height-to-thickness ratio is the key parameter that affects the hysteretic behavior evidently, while the inclination angle and the number of strips have little effects on the hysteretic behavior of TSPSW under the circumstance in this paper.
