摘要
Despite the usefulness of Raman spectroscopy, practical limitations have prevented the full exploitation of its potential. Richard A. Mathies and colleagues at the University of California, Berkeley, describe femtosecond stimulated Raman spectroscopy, which uses two lasers to stimulate transitions. The technique provides extremely fast data-acquisition rates, which enable the rapid measurement of fluorescent species.
