摘要
Copper(II) and zinc (II) complexes of Schiff bases, derived from substituted 2-aminothiazoles and o-hydroxyaldehydes, have been synthesized. The complexes are monomeric, possessing 1 : 2 (metal : lignad) stoichiometry and are non-electrolytic in nature. The Zn-II complexes have been characterized by thermal analyses and X-ray diffractometry. The kinetic parameters (n, E, Z, DeltaS and G) estimated using Coats-Redfern, MacCallum-Tanner and Horowitz-Metzger methods are in good mutual agreement. The powder X-ray diffraction studies suggest a tetragonal crystal system for the Zn-II complexes. Antibacterial activities of the complexes have also been studied.
