Micromagnetic three-dimensional simulation of the pinning field in high temperature Sm(Co,Fe,Cu,Zr)z magnets

We have investigated domain wall pinning in Sm(Co,Fe,Cu,Zr)(z) based magnets with 3D micromagnetic simulations using a hybrid finite element/boundary element method. Transmission electron micrographs of magnets with Sm-2(Co,Fe)(17) matrix and Sm(Co,Cu)(5-7) precipitation phases were used to model the cellular microstructure. The pinning field was investigated for varying thickness of the intercellular phase. (C) 2002 American Institute of Physics.
