摘要
The aim of the paper is to investigate the microstructure and mechanical properties of TA2-2A12 bimetals fabricated by explosive welding. The bimetals have a wavy bonding interface. It is seen that the TA2 had a violent plastic deformation near the interface. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS) results show that no intermetallic compounds were found in the crest. Lining scan dedicates the interface had a short diffusion area which would make contributions to the limitation of the formation of intermetallic compounds. TA2 near the interface had a rapidly-melting during the welding. Recrystallization and twinning were also detected. The value of microhardness decreased when the distance from the interface increased. Tensile strength and bending property are acceptable. (c) 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
