摘要
The complete mitochondrial genome of the maritime striped squirrel (Tamiops maritimus) was first sequenced and characterized. The genome was 16523 bp in length, and the composition and the arrangement of genes were analogous to other rodents. The sequence of T. maritimus was used to construct phylogenetic tree with additional mitochondrial genomes of seven sciurid species available on GenBank. Phylogenetic result indicated that T. maritimus has a close relationship with T. swinhoei. Our mitochondrial genome data may provide information for species identification, diversity evaluation, and other studies about this genus.
