摘要
A Probabilistic Fitness-for-Service Assessment (PFFSA) is one of the major risk-based approaches (RBI, RBM, RI-MAP, etc.) in modern process industry. The complexity of large-scale variables is a big challenge for the safety engineers. With Object-Oriented Bayesian Networks (OOBNs) approach, authors studied the PFFSA of the Piping in the Ammonia Synthesis Unit (ASU). In this paper, authors combined OOBNs and Failure Assessment Diagrams (FAD) as a practical engineering approach to the PFFSA of the piping in the ammonia synthesis unit. The study showed that Unified Modeling Language (UML) could be used to descript PFFSA and OOBNs is an engineering practical approach for probabilistic analysis.
