The synthesis, UV-vis spectra, X-ray structure and redox properties of novel models for intramolecular D-A interaction, which incorporate tetrathiafulvalene and a thioindigo basic chromophoric system, are described. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
