摘要：

The report reviews technical education in Ghana against the background of the educational system in Ghana prior to the reforms of October 2007. Basic requirement for entry into the university is a pass in the three core courses and three electives. Engineering Institutions in Ghana consist of polytechnics and universities. The content of geo-engineering in polytechnic programmes is negligible. Geo-Engineering and geoscience programmes are offered in four of the five national universities. Whereas geo-engineering courses are offered at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the University of Mines and Technology with geophysics as the only geoscience programme at KNUST, the programmes at the University of Ghana and at the University of Development Studies in Tamale are geosciences.
