摘要：

This paper provides a progress report on our project to advance and integrate knowledge of Telecommunication Standards into STEM Education. We discuss the problems facing standards education in US universities and outline the motivations for this project. This is followed by an overview of the project's philosophy, organization, activities, and a description of the new course we are developing as a model for modern standards education. We provide and discuss some of the results obtained in our first offering of the new course. These results suggest that interactive instruction strategies are particularly suited to standards education.
