Tunable fiber laser based fiber Bragg grating strain sensor demodulation system with enhanced resolution by digital signal processing

摘要
A fiber Bragg grating strain sensor demodulation system based on the it laser (WTFRL) is developed. The finite impulse response (FIR) digital filler and the centriod detection algorithm (CDA) are implemented to reduce the system noises and to improve the resolution of the Bragg wavelength-shifts detection. The experiments show that with this signal processing technique, the resolution of the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) strain sensor is 1.39 mu epsilon, which is much better than the resolution (10.1 mu epsilon) of the direct peak-detection method.
