Extinction and star formation histories of nearby starburst galaxies

摘要：
Optical spectroscopic observations of a sample of M 82 type starburst galaxies were carried out and analyzed to infer extinction and star formation histories in them. The majority of the starburst regions in the sample are found to have more than three episodes of star formation over the past I Gyr. Younger populations show a trend to have higher reddening than those formed just before them.
