摘要
The development of diffractive optical sensors for ammonia detection using the inorganic salts of NiCl2 and CuCl2 immersed in precursors materials (TMOS, TEOS) is presented. Soft lithography techniques employed for the fabrication of the diffraction gratings followed by proper tailoring of sol-gel sensing materials to optimise sensor response. The evaluation of these nanocomposites materials as active materials for potential photonic sensors revealed the best performance for the CuCl2/TEOS with response's dynamic range of (0-16%). The use of CuCl2 in diffraction grating sensors as a sensing material for detection of ammonia is emerging for the first time.
