Effects of sulphide on pit corrosion in metallic glass steel

摘要
A metallic glass steel trapping sulphide particles with the composition of Fe66.6C7.1Si3.3B5.5P8.7 Cr2.3Mo2.5Al2.0Co1.0S1.0 was fabricated using industrial raw materials. The effect of sulphide particle on pit corrosion in metallic glass steel was investigated by kinetic and microstructural analysis in 0.5M NaCl solution at room temperature. The electrochemical results indicated that the metallic glass steel was immune to pit corrosion in this environment. The dissolution of sulphide inclusion did not trigger pit corrosion of metallic glass steel since the stable passive film was formed easily on the fresh metal of glassy matrix.
