Catalogue and bibliography of the Subfamily Agnathinae is provided, along with a discussion on the systematic position of the genus Agnathus Germar, 1825. Known data on its geographic distribution and bionomy are reviewed and new observations on the biology of Agnathus decoratus (Germar, 1818) are given. A new species, Agnathus secundus sp. nov., is described from the mountain forests of southwestern China (Yunnan).
