Second law analysis of laminar falling liquid film along an inclined heated plate

Second law analysis of heat transfer of a laminar falling liquid film along an inclined heated plate is investigated. The upper surface of the liquid film is considered free and adiabatic. Velocity and temperature profiles are obtained and used to obtain the entropy generation number and the irreversibility ratio. The results show that fluid friction irreversibility dominates over heat transfer irreversibility. (C) 2004 Elsevier Science Ltd.
