摘要
The performance of regular, complex frequency shafted (CFS), and second-order perfecfly matched layers (PMLs) is studied for the numerical simulation of waveguide problems. The limitations of each PML is clearly demonstrated. It is shown that the second-order PML is overall the best choice, for a general problem, since the regular PML is incapable of absorbing evanescent waves and the CFS-PML is ineffective for the absorption of low-frequency propagating waves. Both two- and three-dimensional problems are considered to confirm the analysis. (C) 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
