Dielectric study of phase transitions in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3

Phase transitions in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O-3-PbTiO3 were investigated by means of the dielectric constant measurement under the zero-field heating after field cooling. A sharp phase transition between ferroelectric phases in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O-3 was confirmed to appear at 114 degrees C, and to connect to the morphotropic phase boundary in the Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O-3-PbTiO3 solid solution system. It is therefore concluded that the phase transition between ferroelectric phases of Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O-3 is the one between the tetragonal and rhombohedral phases. (C)2009 The Ceramic Society of Japan.
