摘要
Hydrophobic silica aerogel reinforced with carbon nanotube (CNT/silica aerogel) has been prepared by forming silica layer on carboxylated CNT via a sol-gel process. The prepared CNT/silica aerogel can bear a load of 12.6 MPa, which is 90 times greater than that the pure silica aerogel prepared at same synthesis condition can bear. The pore volume and bulk density of the obtained CNT/silica aerogel are 2.92 cm(3)/g and 0.07 g/cm(3), respectively. The maximum absorptive ability of CNT/silica aerogel for organic solvents or oils can reach 15 times its weight. In addition, this kind of CNT/silica aerogel could be recycled more than 30 times by an easy heat treatment with the steady absorptive ability. High absorptive ability, excellent mechanical property and good recyclability give the CNT/silica aerogel potential applications in oil removal.
