摘要
Current guidelines for the treatment of erectile dysfunctions indicate the need to a complete evaluation of the patient, which includes a detailed history, clinical and paraclinical tests. The primary assessment of the patient with erectile dysfunction follows sexual, medical and psychosocial history, clinical examination and paraclinical tests. Depending on their outcome, we can take into consideration the treatment or optional tests to perform for the evaluation. An important role before the establishment of the appropriate treatment is represented by the patient/partner education. The Princeton Consensus divides cardiovascular risk associated with sexual activity in three categories: low, medium and increased. The recommendation for the management of erectile dysfunctions rely on those categories. It is necessary to identify people with increased global cardiac risk to initiate intensive lifestyle adjustments and if needed medical treatment. The multidisciplinary approach of patients with erectile dysfunction guarantees an accurate diagnosis also a modern and effective treatment.
